Birds have been the love of my life ever since I was a small child growing up in the English countryside. Since beginning wildlife photography in the 1980s I’ve travelled widely pursuing photo projects, and published numerous images and magazine articles, as well as authored several books.
My primary goal is to capture birds in action, living their lives, interacting with each other and the environment. But I also enjoy portraying birds more in more impressionistic, evocative ways. To me there’s nothing more engrossing than bird photography; I thrive on the challenge and the opportunity to lose myself completely. Photographing birds feeds my soul.
