I’m drawn to forms, colours and light, and the way the camera can be used as a creative tool to capture aspects of the real world in an interesting or unusual way. I really enjoy looking for patterns and rhythms in the natural world, and as I get older (I’m 17 now) I notice myself becoming more and more drawn to abstraction.

I’ve always had a passion for the natural world, but David Attenborough’s documentaries were probably what first got me hooked. I filmed wildlife for a number of years before I got my first DSLR, aged 13, and began taking photos. Initially I saw photography as a way of recording the species I saw; but I soon found this was no longer enough, and I began treating my photography as more of an art.

In the future I would like to do a degree in one of the sciences and then have a career in something science or photography related.
